We’ve come to the part in the program where my kids are growing up.

And I like what I see.

The oldest one woke up this morning and started preparing breakfast for everyone. Micah’s done the dishes twice and has dinner going tonight. With ingredients purchased with her own money.

Last night when I was settling in to watch something from the junk food section of Netflix, she was reading “Jesus, The Christ,” before going to bed.

I look at her youngest sister, Lindsey, so beautiful like her siblings. Her face shines and she exudes confidence. She’s raising money to go work in Africa, because of her desire to help people. When I was her age, I think I used all my spare change for my doughnut habit.

Lacey has been a magnificent help for us at home, letting us lean on her during some tough times. And we don’t borrow that much money. Honest.

Riley has raised almost $100 in three days for a local animal shelter. And he has plans for more.

Spencer challenges me with how deep he can think. He poses great questions about life and soaks in more knowledge than he lets on.

Yes, I like what I see.
